Our journey began with Adoption by Choice in November 2019. We completed our homestudy with them in February 2020. In May 2020, Adoption by Choice announced their closure; and we were devastated by the news, but it did not stop us. Right away, we registered with Adoption Options. We were told the process may take up to 3-5 years or more, but we were positive that it will happen at the right time.
On September 24th, 2020 around 2:00 pm. the social worker, Sheryl, mentioned there is an East Indian couple that has selected us as the adoptive parents, are you ready? We were in shock and at the same time our hearts were dancing! We said, “YES we are ready!” The next thing we were told was to arrange all the stuff for a newborn. You guys need to be at the hospital to pick him up around 7:00 pm. We both were so emotional at that time; we ran to the store and filled our cart with all the baby stuff we may need.
We reached the hospital, entered the room, and we see this beautiful girl holding this little angel in her hands. Oh my God! Is it a dream? No, it’s not. It was very emotional for all of us, unlike anything we have felt or experienced before. We spoke for a few hours with birth parents and assured them that we will keep a very open relationship and will give all our love to this little angel. We were holding him, and we just couldn’t believe it, but Miracles Do Happen!
