James was welcomed into the world 6 weeks early on June 12th, 2021 at 5.6lbs and 44.9cm long . After spending 2 weeks in the NICU he was welcomed into a loving foster family, where he learnt to smile and sleep through the night! We (Samantha and Jacob) got the call that our file was being considered in July and by the end of August we had the privilege of meeting James’ incredible birthmom. We instantly connected over the importance of family, our dog Thomas, and our shared love of country music. In much anticipation we finally got to welcome James Kolton into our hearts and home on September 1st. This is all still so surreal to us, our hearts are so full of happiness and love that our faces hurt from smiling so much.
We want to thank Heather and everyone at Adoption Options for being passionate and persistent advocates for our son and for being so supportive and encouraging through our journey. The grace and compassion you have shown to everyone along the way has not gone unnoticed.
We are overwhelmingly thankful to James’ foster family for showing him such love and being so gracious and welcoming to us. And finally we cannot even begin to explain the depth of our gratitude to James’ birthmom, how excited we are about our ongoing relationship with her, and how lucky we feel to get to be James’ parents.
