The last 12 months have been so incredible for us, even in the midst of the pandemic roller-coaster. Last October we moved into our new house, in April we finally got married, and then August 27, 2021 is a day we will never forget, because at 8:23 pm that evening we got a call from Mackenzie at Adoption Options saying that we were chosen. And just like that our lives changed forever, as there was a baby girl waiting for us in Calgary. So the next morning we headed our to start our most amazing adventure.
Ava was born on August 24, and after a 10 day stay with her at the NICU in Calgary, we were finally able to bring her home to Edmonton. There are no words to describe how lucky and blessed we are to have such a wonderful daughter, and we cannot wait to love and support her as she grows into the amazing person she is meant to be.
We want to give a special thanks to Ava’s birthmother and birthfather, who are so strong, courageous, and selfless.
We also want to thank all of the NICU staff at the Calgary South Health Campus, who were very kind and helpful during Ava’s stay there.
And finally we want to thank everyone at Adoption Options for all their help and support right from the moment we first walked into their office. Especially Mackenzie who had gone through many consult calls with us, and then gave us the best call of our lives.
We look forward to continuing to be part of the Adoption Options family.
